A large part of the University’s goals for it’s Athletic program to continue to improve its basketball team to be a major player on the national stage.
An important part of the plan was to house their team in a dedicated state-of-the-art, standalone facility, so that their practices would remain uninterrupted by other events that may be taking place in the Bank United Center. This new facility is a LEED certified project, meeting the University’s goals for sustainability and energy efficient design. The facility underwent a stringent LEED commissioning project that is to set the standard for future construction at the University. Furthermore, the facility contains high-end custom dehumidification systems that can adapt to the demands of a high-end athletic facility with varying occupancy.
